summer bucket list
Welcome Summer!! Today marks the summer solstice and the official arrival of the summer season. And, believe me, the weather has been cooperating. In fact, it's been downright HOT for the past couple of weeks. In honor of summer's arrival, I threw this little 'summer bucket list' together. You may think I'm just going to be playing around all summer long... boy, I hope you're right!! My intentions for the next few months are to simply enjoy life. Mind you, I'm not naive enough to believe that there won't be "things" that come up, but for now I'm just focusing on having a relaxing, enjoyable summer with my family and friends. My new little grandson will be here in August and I can hardly wait!! Enjoy you're extra long day... and the weekend.

happy spring
Spring is finally here, and along with it comes my seasonal bucket list. Nothing fancy or too adventurous, just some simple things I want to accomplish between now and summer. I've left a significant number of things off the list such as going to the park with my grandson and playing tennis with my daughters, but those things are pretty much a given:) I'll probably try out a couple of new recipes as well. And, much to my chagrin, a little spring cleaning.

making the list {winter edition}
Just wanted to share my list of things I want to do this winter. I've been trying to set some smaller goals lately. Some of these will be checked off quickly. Others will take the entire 3 months. I accomplished all but one thing on my Autumn list, but I'm hoping to be 10 for 10 this time around. Looks like I need to add "get new rain gutters" to my Spring list:)

making the list
I tend to be a bit of a list maker. I'm sure this comes as no surprise to most of my close family and friends. I don't know... call me crazy... but there is just something about making a list and slowly checking the items off the list once they are completed. It's like a little "organizational high" for me. Take a peek at my latest list of things I want to do this Fall season. I've limited my list to 15 items, but, truth be told, I could easily add another 15. I love this time of year:)

all party'd out + five questions
We had a wonderful celebration for Tate's 2nd birthday last night, complete with swimming, balloons, going down the slide, unwrapping presents, blowing out candles, and, of course, unwrapping gifts. Most of the people that matter most in Tate's life were there to celebrate with us. I took lots of pics to document the occasion, but my favorite was taken at the end of the night when things were winding down. Tate sat down with a couple of his balloons and just stared off for a moment. I think it's a priceless shot. My precious little grandson... growing up. I think he was all party'd out.
In other news....
Our assignment in Behind the Scenes this week was to answer these five questions on our blog.
1. What makes you happy?
That's easy....Faith, Family, Friends, Food and Photography. (kind of wish photography started with an F :)
2. Which talent would you most like to have?
This is not so easy because there are so many answers, but I would have to say a talent for singing. I recently took up the guitar and would love to have a beautiful voice to go along with it.
3. Which words or phrases do you overuse most? Hmmmm....hmmmm.....hmmmm. I'm not sure. I would probably say hmmm... :)
4. What is your favorite movie, book or both? For movie, I would probably say First Night (an oldie but goody). I love anything set back in medieval times. Plus, I'm a sucker for forbidden love :) Books are a little harder. I'm not sure I have discovered my favorite yet. I'm still making my way through all of the millions of good reads out there. I'll keep you posted...
5. If you could go anywhere in the world for a creative retreat, where might it be? Africa. Definitely Africa. Can you imagine the images you could capture? Between the culture, the people, the land and the animals....be still my heart.
Okay, that's it for today. I sure am enjoying this class and hate to see it come to an end on Friday. I have so much more to learn!
